Rentals originating in the United States: Most vehicles rented in the US can be driven throughout the US and Canada. Some vehicle classes like Exotics, Large Passenger or Cargo Vans and other speciality vehicles may not be allowed to travel outside of the US. Vehicles rented in the US cannot be driven into Mexico.Â
Damage waiver (DW) for this branch ranges between $23.99 and $26.99 per day depending on the type of vehicle rented. DW is offered at the time of rental for an additional daily charge. If the renter accepts DW, Enterprise waives or reduces the renter's responsibility for loss of or damage to the rental vehicle, including but not limited to towing, storage, loss of use, administrative fees and/or diminishment of value subject to the terms and conditions of the rental agreement and applicable laws. DW is not insurance. The purchase of DW is optional and not required to rent a car. The protection provided by DW may duplicate the renter's existing coverage. Enterprise is not qualified to evaluate the adequacy of the renter's existing coverage, therefore the renter should examine their credit card protections, car insurance policies or other sources of coverage that may duplicate the protection provided by DW.
For retail rentals only secured with Extended Protection within the cost of the rental (excluding any liability protection or insurance coverage provided under a commercial contract), the following shall apply:
Extended Protection (EP) (Where available): The Owner provides the Renter or any AAD with third party liability protection in an amount equal to the minimum financial responsibility limits applicable to the vehicle (the Primary Protection). EP also provides additional third party liability protection, through an excess liability policy, with limits of the difference between the Primary Protection and a combined single limit of $1 million per accident for bodily injury and/or property damage to others arising out of the use or operation of the Owner rental vehicle by the Renter or an AAD, subject to the terms and conditions of the policy. EP includes Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist (UM/UIM) coverage for bodily injury and property damage (only where required by law for property damage) in an amount equal to the minimum financial responsibility limits applicable to the Vehicle (the Primary Protection), and additional coverage, through an excess liability policy, with limits for the difference between the statutory minimum underlying limits and $100,000 per accident (for rentals commencing in New York, UM/UIM limits are $100,000 per person/$300,000 per accident; for rentals commencing in Hawaii, the UM/UIM limits are $1,000,000 combined single limit) or state mandated UM/UIM limit, whichever is greater. OWNER AND RENTER REJECT ANY ADDITIONAL UNINSURED/UNDERINSURED MOTORIST (UM/UIM) COVERAGE TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. EP, including UM/UIM benefits is provided only when Renter or any AAD are driving the Vehicle. No claim for UM/UIM may be made due to the negligence of the driver of the Vehicle. EP coverage is in effect only while another AAD or Renter is driving the Vehicle within the United States and Canada; coverage does not apply in Mexico. ADDITIONAL POLICY EXCLUSIONS INCLUDE: (A) BODILY INJURY OR DEATH TO THE RENTER, ANY AAD, OR TO THE BLOOD RELATIVES OR FAMILY OF THE RENTER OR AN AAD, IF SUCH RELATIVES OR FAMILY RESIDE IN THE SAME HOUSEHOLD WITH THE RENTER OR WITH AN AAD; (B) PROPERTY DAMAGE TO THE RENTAL VEHICLE; (C) FINES, PENALTIES, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; (D) BODILY INJURY, DEATH OR PROPERTY DAMAGE EXPECTED OR INTENDED FROM THE STANDPOINT OF THE INSURED; AND (E) ANY OBLIGATION FOR WHICH THE INSURED OR THE INSURED'S INSURER MAY BE HELD LIABLE UNDER ANY WORKER'S COMPENSATION, DISABILITY BENEFITS OR UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION LAW OR ANY SIMILAR LAW. (F) BODILY INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE EXPECTED OR INTENDED FROM THE STANDPOINT OF RENTER OR AADS. Note: Any UM/UIM benefits paid are included in the $1 million combined single limit EP coverage and in no way increase the combined single limit amount referenced above. This insurance coverage is underwritten by Ace American Insurance Company. Report SLP Claims to: Sedgwick CMS, P.O. Box 94950 Cleveland, OH 44101-4950, Phone: 1-888-515-3132 Fax: 1-216-617-2928.

Option 2 – We Refill
This option allows the renter to pay at the end of the rental for fuel used but not replaced. Price will be higher than local fuel prices.  Additional charges may be added.
Option 3 – You Refill

Customers who reside in the United States, U.S. Territories or Canada
Customers who reside in the U.S., U.S. Territories or Canada must present a valid, unexpired government-issued driving licence which includes a photograph of the customer. Digital licences are not accepted. The driving licence must be valid for the entire rental period.
Members of the United States Armed Forces who are on active duty may present an expired home state licence under the following conditions:
• They also present an Active Military ID, and
• They are in compliance with their military extension policy of the state that issued the licence. These policies vary by state and customers are encouraged to check with the appropriate department of motor vehicles for more information.
Customers renting in Florida and presenting a Connecticut or Delaware licence: As of 1 July 2023, certain, but not all, licences issued by the foregoing states are considered invalid under Florida law and will not be accepted. Please check with the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to determine if your licence is valid under Florida law. As of 14 August 2023, information regarding licence validity was able to be located at the following webpage on the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles website: https://www.flhsmv.gov/driver-licenses-id-cards/visiting-florida-faqs/
Customers travelling to the U.S. and Canada from other countries
It is important that customers check with the appropriate Department of Motor Vehicles in the States or Provinces in which they intend to travel to ensure compliance with their various licensing laws. Digital licences are not accepted. The following practices are used to ensure that the customer is presenting a facially valid licence at the time of rental.
Customers travelling to the United States and Canada from another country must present the following:
• Their home country driving licence that is valid, unexpired and includes a photograph, and
• If the home country licence is in a language other than English (or French, for rentals in Canada) and the letters are English (i.e. German, Spanish etc.), an International Driving Permit is recommended, but not required, for translation purposes in addition to the home country licence.Â
• If the home country licence is in a language other than English and the letters are not English (i.e. the alphabet is not an extended Latin-based alphabet like German or Spanish, but is Russian, Japanese, Arabic etc.), an International Driving Permit is required.
• If an International Driving Permit cannot be obtained in the home country, another professional, type-written translation may be substituted. In either case, the home country licence must also be presented.
• Customers may not rent a vehicle solely with the International Driving Permit. The International Driving Permit is a translation of the individual's home country licence and is not considered a licence, nor is it considered valid identification.
• In some US and Canadian locations, customers who do not hold a US/Canadian driving licence may be asked to provide additional, valid government-issued documentation. Examples of this may include a valid passport.
• Customers with a driving licence from Mexico may be required to present a valid voter registration card from Mexico. In addition, inbound and outbound travel documentation may be required.
Other requirements
• Photocopies of driving licences are not accepted
• Provisional licences are not accepted.
• Any licence that, on its face, restricts the licensee to the use and operation of a vehicle equipped with a form of a breathalyser apparatus is not accepted.
• Temporary driving licences may be refused if the renting location is unable to otherwise verify the customer's identity or verify the authenticity of the temporary licence. Additional government-issued identification may be required.
